Jay Parker has been a resident of Columbus , Georgia since 2000. He and his wife Katie have two daughters: Mary Avnor and Hendley. Jay is originally from Eufaula , Alabama and graduated from Auburn University . Jay is a Wealth Management Advisor and is Resident Director with Merrill Lynch. He actively serves on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Boys and Girls Clubs. Jay is active in CrossFit, hunting, cycling, and golf and is in full support of all of his daughters’ activities. He has been on the PFK Board of Directors since its inception and has previously served as Chairman of the Board.
Jack Sherrer, III
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. Attended Pepperdine University where he obtained a B.S. in Business and a M.B.A. in Finance and in Digital Innovation & Information Systems. Jack presently resides in Los Angeles and is Assistant Director of Data Analytics and Systems Integration at Pepperdine and is also adjunct faculty at Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business. He loves exercising, swimming and golf. Jack is active on the Board in the establishment and growth of the PFK Foundation.
Rhonda Eysel was born and raised in Columbus , Georgia. She is a graduate of Hardaway High School and received her B.A. in Business Administration from Columbus State University. She and husband Chris have two children: son Clayton and daughter Maddie. Rhonda is President/CEO of Master Kleen Dry Cleaners. She and her family are members of First Baptist Church of Columbus. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Southeastern Fabricare Association. Rhonda is an active runner and cyclist. She has been on the PFK Board of Directors since the charity was founded and is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board.
James graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and is presently attending medical school at the Emory School of Medicine. He is active in CrossFit where he is a certified trainer. He has enjoyed his previous work with Mercy Med in Columbus, Georgia caring for economically disadvantaged patients and has also enjoyed his work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Columbus. James is involved in fund-raising activities for PFK and is active in PFK’s Spring and Fall Rides. He loves to hunt and play golf in his free time.
Avery Sherrer is a second-year law student at Stetson University College of Law, focusing on Trial Advocacy. She serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in Pinellas County and holds board positions in many organizations, including the Stetson Law Democrats, Federal Bar Association, Federal Association of Women Lawyers and the Innocence Initiative. In 2014, Avery graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fl with a degree in Communication Studies and Public Relations; she earned a Master in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 2019. Avery plans to pursue her law career in the Tampa Bay area. In her free time she enjoys Pilates, traveling and visiting with family. She presently serves as PFK’s Event Coordinator.
Erin Brown was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. She attended Columbus High School followed by Columbus State University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science in 2006. Erin earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. After graduation, she worked in Acworth, Georgia for 4 years where she also completed an Orthopedic Residency program before returning to her home in Columbus to practice. She now works as a physical therapist for HPRC. She has two daughters, Madison and Peyton, with her husband Taylor Brown. They currently reside in Harris County. Erin has a passion for helping those in her community and has a special place in her heart for helping children. Erin is invaluable to PFK and the Board; she is in charge of evaluating all applications and in determining the correct product to purchase for our PFK children. She has been on the PFK Board since 2015.
Stuart was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Econometrics in Business. He has continued to reside in Fort Worth, Texas since graduation and is presently the Warranty Coordinator for Parkway Construction and Architecture. Stuart has had a philanthropic heart since childhood with special emphasis on children with disabilities and is also active in rescue dog rehab and placement. He is an avid golfer, bow hunter and wing-shooter. Stuart is Director for Marketing and Sales for Pedaling for Kids.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. Attended Columbus State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Science. Rod has been with Total Systems, a division of Global Payments, since 1993 and serves presently as Senior Sales Manager. Rod has been very active with Pedaling for Kids for a number of years and is PFK’s top fundraiser for the last three years. In addition to enjoying time with his two sons, his hobbies include obtaining and showing specialty cars, gun collecting/shooting and golf.
