Pedaling for Kids is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity created and committed to raise monies to fund special projects and purchase needed equipment for children with disabilities in our local community. The goal of Pedaling for Kids (PFK) is to provide necessary items for the children with disabilities in our community not provided for by other insurance and governmental agencies.
The Pedaling for Kids Board of Directors reviews requests for help through a standard application from any individual or group seeking help. Each application is carefully reviewed by the Board and financial help is rendered as possible depending on the funds available. Pedaling for Kids is not a governmental agency and is not affiliated with any specific civic or religious organization. Every application for assistance will be reviewed and considered.
The Board of Directors and all riders in Pedaling for Kids are volunteer. There is no paid staff. All monies raised are used to fund projects for children with disabilities in our community or used directly in the fund-raising efforts for these children.
The primary fund-raisers for PFK are the annual spring and fall bicycle rides. All funds raised are secured in an account managed by Synovus Bank of Columbus. No funds are dispensed without signatures of all board members for each funded project. The Board will directly oversee the purchase of the product or the service of the project to be funded and will be responsible for the direct delivery of the product or service to the disabled child/family. Mr. Chuck Davis of the accounting firm of Densik and Davis quarterly reviews the activities of the Pedaling for Kids account at Synovus Bank and this review is public record and is available upon request. We are tremendously grateful to Mr. Davis for the donation of his time and efforts to PFK.
